This is another example where an executive does not give any reference no. for customer complains. You cannot claim that you have lodged a complaint to bank. What a shame…
I have a credit card, which was billed for the product, which I have not purchased. From last six months, I have not received any bill from Citibank too. Suddenly when it cross the dispute settlement limit I received a call from there executives that I had an International transaction from my card on November.
I told them I have not done this transaction and I was told that I should have lodged the complaint within 45 days. I told them I am not using this card from six months and I did not receive any bill despite numerous complains. Nevertheless, he was reluctant to listen that.
Immediately I ask them I want to surrender this card and what are the procedures. They have said it can be surrendered if I clear the payments. I told them whatever the amount is due took from me and take your card back. I am so desperate to surrender this that I am ready to pay the dues, which were not born by me. Still have procedures to go.
I did not get any reference number that my card is actually surrendered. Only thing I know that my card is blocked now and I will get surrender letter automatically to my billing address after a week.
Now look at the executives excuses how they are trying hard to keep me as there customer. They have visited my office and told us that instead of surrendering this card they will provide me a Gold Card, which I refused immediately. Then they went ahead and told me that, I will get discount of additional charges which was there in my bill. I agreed to them and they ask me to send money to nearest Citi Bank.
I broke the card into pieces and sealed the possibility of its renewal. However, when I reached the citi bank next day, they ask me to pay double amount of money. This is the worse ever instance where the executives offer discount does not reflect in there bills. There is no system of giving customer a proof of what they say.
